Visiting my Ancestors Place in South Carolina 4th GGF Thomas Richards 1755-1841

Daphne & I got to spend a few days enjoying South Carolina. We went to the Oconee Station which is a State Park and Historical Marker. It is in Pickens County, South Carolina. The State Park is the home of my 4th GGF Thomas Richards 1755-1841. (Mothers' Side) Thomas Richards had come from England. One of his son's Dr William Richards 1789-1850 left South Carolina and moved to Pickens County, Alabama. That is when the Richards settled into that area.  A lot of history on the Park and what it had to do with for the Southeastern part of the US. It was one of the biggest Trading Routes and Post for Settlers & Indians coming through going to the West in the 1800's. Also a place for Trappers & Settlers to sell and trade Fur. (PICTURE BELOW)

Henderson Family was also from Pickens County, South Carolina. 4th GGF Daniel Henderson Sr 1760-1840 (Mother's Side) was from Tryon, North Carolina. Tryon was on the border of North & South Carolina. Daniel's son James Franklin 1795-1861 set up a big Homestead in Pickens County, South Carolina. Most of his family lived and died there. some of James Franklin's brothers lived in York County, South Carolina and then moved on to Pickens County, Alabama. I also tried to find where there Homestead was in the county, buy couldn't locate it. (PICTURE BELOW)

By going to that one place you can tell how the Richards & Henderson Family made there way into Alabama.
